Important information for Flex policyholders in Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW

Cyclone coverage in your policy

Your CHU or Flex policy will typically cover storm damage caused by a tropical cyclone.

To check coverage, and any conditions and excesses for cyclone damage please refer to your Policy and Product disclosure statement (PDS) here.

Please note there may be some exclusions such as storm flood surge where coverage is restricted. This is determined upon lodgement of a claim, which we recommend doing as soon as any damage is determined.

Preparation

It's important to prepare ahead of the storm. If it's safe to do so;

  • check gutters and drains are clear
  • secure loose items such as outdoor furniture
  • check for overhanging branches that may cause damage
  • move cars undercover.

It is important to engage insured tradespeople to undertake preventative actions such as trimming tree branches or clearing gutters.

Making a claim

CHU and Flex teams are closely monitoring the situation and mobilising our assessors and building panels to be ready to provide assistance. We’re also increasing the resources in our after-hours call team in the event you need help over coming days.
